The now well-known richly detailed "distressed" look of Lou's art all began by accident, like many life-changing things seem to do. One day, as Lou fought the freeway rush hour to get to FedEx before they closed, his illustration blew out the car window and was run over by a cement truck. It was in all the papers. "Say, this looks pretty good!" Lou said, after a half hour of tying up traffic and flattening the art out as best he could.
